# Impressions of Nature: Paper as Memory

Paper as a living palimpsest, the IAPMA biennale in Denmark

The [IAPMA Paper Art Biennale 2026](https://www.silkeborgbad.dk/en/exhibitions/future-exhibitions/imaginature) in Silkeborg, Denmark, is devoted to paper as a living palimpsest — a material that keeps the traces of time, of nature and of human presence.

Artists from many countries show works in which paper becomes the carrier of memory: through folds, imprints, transformations of the material and inscribed stories. The exhibition at [Art Centre Silkeborg Bad](https://www.silkeborgbad.dk/en/) invites visitors to discover the deep connection between body, earth and memory, and marks the 40th anniversary of the _International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists_ (IAPMA).
