No. 4 - QR Code
The QR code as a symbol of the digital age forms the basis of this work and involuntarily prompts the viewer to pull out their smartphone and scan the code.
By using three-dimensional paper prisms of varying heights, a spherical surface is imitated without compromising the code’s functionality.
The careful arrangement of the prisms creates an optical illusion that transforms the two-dimensional code into a tactile experience while simultaneously bridging digital symbolism and handcrafted paper art.
The work plays with our perception of technology and art by transforming an everyday digital function into a physical object.
