No. 9 – Luminex Paper Relief by Larisa Semke

“Luminex” is a three-dimensional wall installation made of hexagonal paper modules that create a fascinating play of light in a seemingly spiral arrangement. The color palette, ranging from luminous yellow through radiant orange to deep red, symbolizes the transition from sunlight to dusk.

The height differences of the individual elements capture the light, creating a vibrant shadow play that gives each color shade a nuanced brightness, reminiscent of the flickering of light in motion and making the entire pattern resonate with almost kinetic energy.

The precise geometry and rhythmic repetition of shapes reinforce the impression that light is being captured and concentrated in a hypnotic spiral.
