No. 24 – Triangula Paper Relief by Larisa Semke

The basic form of the work is a section of a torus, its volume filled with triangular paper modules. Only two parameters define the geometry: the distance to the edge and the total depth of the work.

The right-angled triangles follow the toroidal contour and so form a curved relief. Towards the edge the structure flattens and passes almost seamlessly into the base.

The hollow modules let the light through. In the interplay of surfaces, edges and shadows they create an impression of movement within a geometric order.

The colouring changes with the side it is seen from. The inner contours of the triangles show a gradient of pink on one side and a gradient from yellow to orange on the other.
